Gearbox's hotly-anticipated Borderlands 2 is almost upon us. And what better way to remind us by releasing its launch trailer. It starts off innocently enough, with the game's new antagonist Handsome Jack "welcoming" our band of heroes to the land of Pandora.
Sadly, this welcome wagon isn't the type where you're greeted with drinks and food, it's more like the kind where you'd rather leave than stay. The enemies aren't coy about it, either. Mechs, and a literal army of troops await our heroes.
Fortunately, no spoilers are contained within. However, if you have something against guns or awesomeness, then I suggest not venturing further as the trailer has ample doses of both.
Given the early reviews from the game and how its pre-orders are trending, I'd say Gearbox is well on-track for Borderlands 2 breaking all of their previous sales records. Mind you, I'm not complaining as the game looks like it will give the FPS genre the shot in the arm it needs…until Black Ops 2 and Warfighter releases and we're back to square one.
Also of note, if the trailer didn't stress it enough, co-op will be a big component of Borderlands 2's gameplay; and you know what they say, it's always more fun laying waste to bad guys when you have a buddy by your side.
Are you excited for Borderlands 2? Have you already thought of a good excuse to not work or show up in class tomorrow when it ships?
