Capcom has released Resident Evil 6's live-action TV commercial and while it doesn't show one drop of gameplay, it still is a nice piece of work.
Heck, this one-minute clip is even better than the stuff I've seen from the Resident Evil movies, if I can be so frank. There's no explosions, zombies rushing in and whatever familiar trappings that are seen in most TV commercial for videogames. What we get instead is a look at humanity when all is lost and everyone is looking for any sign of hope or salvation.
I was honestly half-expecting Leon or Chris to come barging in the scenes to mow down zombies and whatnot but Capcom wisely decided not to include those and focus on the hopelessness instead.
Of course, this doesn't mean the game itself will be as deep as this. For all we know the most human thing we might have to do there is to choose whether to shoot a J'avo in the head or body. But this works, Capcom, and hopefully they do more.
Resident Evil 6 is set to hit on October 2 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
