There hasn’t been much news regarding the TimeSplitters franchise. The video game franchise started out in 2000 by developers Free Radical Design and the last installment to release, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, launched back in 2005. Since then, there has been a fan group that aimed to release a TimeSplitters multiplayer video game which hasn’t been updated to the public as of late.
In the past, it was unveiled that Crytek gave the green light to the project, allowing the fan group to release their title TimeSplitters Rewind. Today, we got a brand new teaser trailer showcasing that the project is far from being dead. Instead, gamers who are interested in the video game can expect a launch at some point this year.
Not much information was unveiled in the teaser trailer with the release date being changed from 2018 to 2017 being the main focal point. For those who are unfamiliar with the project, TimeSplitters Rewind is a standalone multiplayer game being developed by fans under the name Cinder Interactive Arts.
The upcoming video game is said to have characters, maps, and weapons from the all three games completely rebuilt. While the development team contains the original assets for the video game franchise, they are opting to make new assets for the upcoming project. For now, we don’t know just when the video game will launch officially other than sometime this year.
