BioWare is known for their incredible in-depth RPG video game series, but their latest upcoming IP release will be an action-adventure, not an RPG. This news came from a report at Polygon after EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed investors a number of currently projects in the works.
When BioWare was brought up in conversation, EA alerted their investors that their new IP in the works is not an RPG, but instead an action-adventure title. Unfortunately, EA’s CEO wasn’t giving up any information regarding the video game, narrative, or even a title, though it’s interesting that BioWare is working on an action-adventure video game that will be releasing after Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Apparently, while the RPG elements will not be present during the upcoming video game project, gamers will still see plenty of in-depth narratives and character progression in the video game, something that BioWare is well known for.
As mentioned earlier, this is not the only bit of information that was released from EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson during an earnings call for investors. Outside of the BioWare video game project announcement, EA also confirmed that there is a new Need for Speed video game in the works along with unveiling Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will have a single-player campaign.
More information for all three of these projects will likely be given out during this year’s E3 expo. In the meantime, what do you think of BioWare taking on an action-adventure video game instead of jumping onto another RPG project? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
