Harvest Moon and Hometown Story creator Yasuhiro Wada is back with a new game series.
Wada explains in the video that Birthdays: The Beginning is the first entry in the series, which will hopefully flourish and allow him to add in all the elements which were just too big for just one game. There is a limited edition available for PS4 on the NIS American Store if you are interested.
Birthdays: The Beginning allows players to build blocky worlds that then spontaneously produce their own life forms. The resulting ecosystems are shaped by both changes to geography and temperature, all made by the player. Aspects such as item use influence how you nurture your life forms from single-celled organisms through plants, mammals, dinosaurs, and more.
Environments range from forest, to islands, to mountains, and NIS America says that no two worlds will ever be totally alike. Players have the freedom to explore their worlds in micro mode, tracking down and documenting new species as they arise. This feature is reminiscent of No Man’s Sky.
The next video in the series will cover what comes after the creation stage, so we will know more about Birthdays: The Beginning very soon.
