2K Games has released the latest trailer for their award-winning basketball sim — NBA 2K13. While this is a trailer for a yearly updated sports game, the video itself focuses on the All-Star Weekend content which is only available for those who pre-order the game.
Interestingly enough, they showed off Clyde " The Glide" Drexler participating in the Slam Dunk Contest and Larry Bird shooting the lights out in the Three-Point event. Of course, the highlight of each NBA All-Star Weekend is still the East vs. West game still and we get to see that in action, too.
The All-Star content shown off is your standard fare; there's Lebron plowing his way through for a slam, Nowitzki using his patented fadeaway to shoot over outstretched hands and more. I admit, the bigger draw for me here is seeing Chris Mullin going up against the likes of Ray Allen, Larry Bird and the rest of NBA in fantasy "what ifs."
Ever wanted to see Michael Jordan take on Kobe in a Slam Dunk Contest? Now you can! Heck, you can even recreate old-fashioned All-Star rivalries like Jordan vs. Wilkins in the Slam Dunk Contest and whatnot. The only thing that concerns me here is the Guitar Hero-ish controls the Slam Dunk event has. Hopefully, it plays better than it looks.
NBA 2K13 is set for release on October 2 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
