Need for Speed: Most Wanted Goes Into Overdrive With a New Gameplay Video

August 28, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new gameplay video of Need for Speed: Most Wanted shows off some of the game’s most wanted features.

Need for Speed Most Wanted

Need for Speed: Most Wanted seems to be getting better and better with every new detail that's released, especially given that the first teaser trailer for the game felt undeniably underwhelming.

A newly released video from EA Games reveals that players will be able to drive any car they find in the game—provided they know where to look. The video showcases a stock Aston Martin V12 Vintage and a stock Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series.

The biggest highlight of the trailer is the two-minute race that the player engages in. A variety of takedowns are showcased as the player smashes his way through the course. The course is situated outdoors and appears to offer multiple routes at certain points. True to the name of the game, Most Wanted includes police pursuits, so you'll have to deal with them during, and even after the race.

The trailer also shows off some of the challenges players will be able to participate in, like smashing security gates. Presumably, completing these challenges will unlock some goodies for use in the game in addition to their associated achievements and trophies. Last, but not least, players will also be able to compete against each other by comparing scores.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is being developed by Burnout Paradise studio Criterion and is set for an October 30 release on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and PlayStation Vita. iOS and Android devices will also be getting special versions of the game.
