If your mind is set on getting the new Console from Nintendo and you choose to partake in Nintendo’s subscription-based system, you will be in the books to receive a free SNES/NES game every month.
Although this information wasn’t released in the actual presentation, it can be seen on Nintendo’s website that subscribers to Switch’s online service will receive a free NES or SNES game download each month. However, it sounds as if you’ll only have access to the game for that month, rather than for as long as you remain a subscriber (as is the case with Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus).
Another ambiguous detail involves online play. Nintendo’s site states, “Subscribers will get to download and play a Nintendo Entertainment System or Super Nintendo Entertainment System game (with newly-added online play) for free for a month.”, what online play is, we don’t know yet.
Aside from online play and the free game, Switch online subscribers will receive exclusive discounts on the system’s online store.
