There’s a massive fan base eagerly waiting on the release of both Kingdom Hearts III and the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, information and presentations for both titles have been lacking. That’s going to change this year as Tetsuya Nomura, the game director for both upcoming titles, reveals that we’ll see both titles presented at an upcoming event this year.
In the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, the publication interviewed Tetsuya Nomura which was translated and posted by Gematsu. The game director unveiled that both Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake development is still going steady, but each currently has elements that are still being worked on. For instance, Kingdom Hearts III still has unannounced worlds that are needing to be developed.
Here are the official statements are given for both the development of Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
“What’s the state of Kingdom Hearts III‘s development?
While I can’t make a sweeping statement because the development process is different from what we’ve done so far, there are still worlds untouched. Production is progressing on unannounced worlds, in a state that we cannot show them off. In terms of the state of development, there is still some way to go.
What’s the state of Final Fantasy VII Remake‘s development?
We’re steadily progressing on production. While we are making them, I apologize that the wait will be be a bit longer for Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake. I am very sorry, but to that degree I will make a game that will meet your expectations.”
The game director finished out the interview by stating that there wasn’t much information for either title last year, but that at some point this year the titles will be shown off.
“Last year, I didn’t put out much information on either title, but this year I want to show our progress at an event somewhere. The release of the titles themselves have still have a way to go. But there are many titles releasing this year, if you can wait for any ‘surprises.’”
Unfortunately, there were no details on what event these two titles could be highlighted in. At the very least, it’s nice knowing that we’ll get some type of presentation this year.
