New Super Mario Bros 2 is the latest Mario title by Nintendo to hit the handheld 3DS console. Needless to say, it’s enjoyable and it manages to live up to the series’ high standards while delivering a brand new experience.
The game can be beaten in next to no time at all, but it carries a host of optional content that’ll bring you back to the Mushroom Kingdom time after time.
To get most out of the game, you might want to ensure that Mario has unlimited lives at his disposal as it’ll allow you to traverse through the world a little more recklessly than you otherwise would.
For unlimited lives, just find a Koopa Troopa coming down a set of stairs near the first Star Coin in World Mushroom-1. It’s a trick that’s worked in in almost every Mario Bros. game.
Simply move Mario to one of the steps the Koopa Troopa is descending and jump on him before he gets to the bottom floor. Doing so will allow you to stomp on his shell repeatedly as it bounces back and forth off the wall and pile up an infinite number of lives.
It’s cheap, but it works.
