Microsoft has announced a price drop for the Kinect—at least in the United States and a few other parts of the world not including Europe. The price drop will bring the Kinect down to $109.99 from the hefty $149.99 it used to be at.
The price of Kinect has yet to be reflected in the official Microsoft Store, but MS spokesman Major Nelson notes that the device will be available in stores for the new price starting today. Regions in which you'll be able to buy the Kinect for the new price include North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific regions where the Xbox 360 is sold.
Additionally, Australians and New Zealanders will be able to enjoy the permanently reduced price starting October 4. It's a couple months away, but it's better than nothing.
Unfortunately, Microsoft says it has no plans to drop the price for European and Japanese customers.
