Assassin's Creed III will open in a way which will surprise people, at least that's what Ubisoft creative director Alex Hutchinson thinks.
There's a reason the opening of the next in the sci-fi historical assassination epic franchise has been kept under wraps and will likely remain under wraps until launch. While the interview above is quite open about protagonist Conner's heritage and about the length of the game, the only thing Hutchinson touches on concerning the opening is a tease that the first few hours will be very surprising.
Does that mean we play as another character, or as a younger Conner? Will we spend the first few hours hungry for colonial America while playing as Desmond? I'm not sure that would be so much a surprise as much as it would be a kick in the face for people that feel this new location breathes fresh energy into the series.
With a release date only a few months away, it won't be long until we discover the truth behind the final part of Desmond's journey.
