Plants vs. Zombies Sequel Arriving Early 2013

August 20, 2012 by Alex Co

PopCap has announced that the sequel to its highly-successful tower defense game Plants vs. Zombies will be getting a sequel early next year!

Mobile and tablet gaming people will be glad to hear that PopCap has just announced that a sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is due out early next year.

The highly-successful tower defense game is still regarded as one of the best "casual" game to date, so it getting a sequel isn't really all that surprising.

In a rather refreshing move, PopCap's press release for the game isn't your standard vanilla fare. Instead of a marketing guy telling you what features to expect, PopCap has gotten some of the game's "denizens" to give their opinion on the upcoming game.

Here's a few choice quotes.

Spring is crullest curlie ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots," noted an unidentified spokesperson. "So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan… we're freee anytime. We'll find you."

"There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning," said Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation. "But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!
All kidding aside, PopCap states that the sequel will launch in late sping of 2013, and will include new features, settings and situations Unfortunately, that's as far as they were willing to go in regards to concrete info. We don't know its price, which platforms its going to appear on and whatnot.

If you're one of the dozen people who have yet to play PvsZ, then I highly suggest you give it a go. Yes, I know it looks "kiddy" or somewhat of a Nintendo reject, but trust me when I say, it's deceptively deep and fun — points not a lot of mobile games can claim.

Any of you still haven't played this yet? If so, what are you waiting for?
