Nate Wells, the art director of Bioshock Infinite, has announced via his Twitter account that he has officially left Irrational Games and his next employer is West Coast developer Naughty Dog. The coast-to-coast development is new, but the community has known for about a week that Wells was done with his work on Infinite.
In an interview with Kotaku, Ken Levine commented on Wells' movement out of the company.
"We love Nate and I think we all remain friends. After 13 years he sort of finished his work on BioShock Infinite, as you will be able to tell when you see the game again," Levine said. "I think Nate's moving on to something else."
Looks like that "something else" could potentially be The Last of Us. This move shouldn't spell problems for Infinite – at least not any more than they are already having – since Wells' involvement in the title is more focused on the early design choices. His job is already done, and now he's able to move on to bigger and better projects. I know everyone is looking forward to Wells' next work.
