Konami has announced quite plainly that no, they will not be releasing a patch for the Xbox 360 version of Silent Hill HD Collection. However, they offer a compromise: you may trade it in for a different game.
Just to be clear, Konami is not offering refunds either. But, instead of fixing a broken title, Konami is allowing affected players to instead exchange the Silent Hill HD Collection for another Konami title.
The offer, only available to customers of North or South America, affects those who bought the Xbox 360 version of the title before August 8, 2012. Customers interested in the offer will have to contact Konami’s customer service department and put in a request for an exchange in writing before October 7, and exchanges are subject to availability.
The game, which released earlier this year, suffers from framerate issues, poor voice syncing, and a number of graphical issues. The PS3 version has since been patched, but Konami chose not to release a patch for the Xbox 360 version, citing “technical issues and resources.” Konami is insisting that the only reported issues are being encountered by a minority of players. It has also confirmed a patch for Silent Hill: Downpour, which is in the works for both PS3 and Xbox 360.
