Xbox Store Potentially Reveals Yooka-Laylee’s Release Date

December 13, 2016 by Katrina Filippidis

Playtonic’s quirky duo begin their adventure soon.

Playtonic’s Yooka Laylee, the most quickly funded video game on kickstarter, is inching ever closer to its official launch. Now thanks to a recent Xbox store page listing, we may know the exact day.

The release date suggests Yooka Laylee will launch on April 11, 2017, which is a slight delay from the original date marked for Q1 2017. According to the game’s description, Yooka Laylee is a collect-a-thon “for the modern era” and will feature stunning expandable worlds, oddball characters, minecart challenges and a bevy of shiny collectibles that will help further gameplay progression. In addition to the standard single player mode, the game will come with local co-op and multiplayer modes for up to four players.

Yooka Laylee is now available to pre-order for $39.99 USD. It comes in a bundle along with the Toybox released to backers in late July this year. Yooka Laylee is expected to release on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U. No word yet on a Switch version.

Disclosure: Author supported Yooka-Laylee on kickstarter.
