Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the retro side-scrolling beat'em up adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel series, is finally getting the online multiplayer it so deserves.
Following a film adaptation released in 2010, the River City Ransom-style XBLA game allowed up to four players of local co-op but did not offer the same in online play.
Now, a DLC package due for release on August 19 will provide the game with online multiplayer for 400 Microsoft Points. But that's not all: the DLC will also offer Scott's roommate, Wallace Wells, as a new playable character.
Wells is the second downloadable character after Knives Chau, who was released a few months after the game initially launched. Despite the fact that Chau first launched on PSN, it's not actually clear when the new DLC content will be made available on the console. For now, Xbox 360 owners may rejoice.
Interestingly for fans of the series, the DLC is due out only a couple of weeks after the full-colour, hardcover release of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life, which is due out tomorrow. However, whether or not these release date are just coincidental is unclear, but beneficial to Scott Pilgrim fans nonetheless.
