The open world dinosaur-filled survival game, ARK: Survival Evolved, is finally releasing on the PS4 today. The game will bring players to a massive open world where their goal is to survive on a mysterious island, which is infested with dinosaurs. Check out the launch trailer below:
The PS4 version of ARK will be getting continuous support from developer Studio Wildcard, which will add new creatures, items and game mechanics in the coming months. They have also announced PS4 Pro support for the game, which will gain substantial performance improvements including a higher framerate, smoother animations, and stunning visual effects.
Lastly, PS4 users will receive special PC_hosted dedicated servers. These special hosted servers will have a slew of cool features such as higher maximum player counts and more customizable settings, for server administrators.
Here’s the full description of the game for those who are new:
In ARK: Survival Evolved, survivors wake up stranded, naked, freezing, and starving on a mysterious island where they must hunt, harvest, craft items, grow crops, and build shelters to survive in every biome. Survivors will tame, train, and ride more than 100 stunning dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts, including gargantuan creatures on a scale never before seen in video games! In every available biome — Jungle, Snow, Swamp, Redwood, and Desert — you’ll be able to fly an armed Pteranodon squadron over the snow-capped mountains, race through a thick jungle with your pack of trained Raptors, tromp through a fortified enemy base with a convoy of gigantic Brontosaurus, or chase down prey on the back of a raging T-Rex.
ARK: Survival Evolved is now available for purchase on PS4.
