Oddworld Vita Ports See Further Delay

August 7, 2012 by Jen Shaffer

SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!

Although the Vita ports of the Oddworld titles Stranger's Wrath and Munch's Oddysee were originally supposed to see retail shelves in June, developer Just Add Water pushed the release date to "very soon." Aside from being terribly ambiguous time-wise, Just Add Water also noted – via Facebook – that they "need to get them finished up and through Sony QA before we can release them."

In an attempt to rope more gamers back into the Oddworld loop, Just Add Water is also looking to have fans help give Abe's Oddysee a name-makeover.

From the renaming site:

"Hey there, fellow chumps! Here on Oddworld we’re having a little problem… maybe you can be the one to solve it!

"See, we need a name for our 2.5D remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, and we need it in time for the big reveal later this year. We’ve considered Abe’s Oddysee HD, but that makes it sound like we’ve injected bigger pictures into the original engine. This is a grounds-up remake with glorious 3D graphics but retaining the classic 2D gameplay! We need a name that stands out and does it justice!

"So if you’ve got your naming caps on and want to flex those titling muscles that you’ve been pumping every evening down at the imagym, just fill out this convenient form with your details and your idea."

If you find yourself chock full of fresh ideas or think that Abe's Oddysee has always been a terrible name, now is your time to make your mark on the Oddworld franchise.
