Minecraft Creator Notch Expresses Support for Oculus Rift

August 6, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

The creator of Minecraft expressed his support for Oculus Rift.

Minecraft

Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson says he intends to support Oculus Rift with his next game, 0x10. Notch says he'll be able to support it as long as it works on Java.

Likewise, Notch says he'd love to see Minecraft support the device. The decision to add support for the Oculus Rift would come down to the game's new lead, Jens Bergensten.

We reported on the Oculus Rift Kickstarter effort a few days ago. The Kickstarter has since met its goal, but interested buyers can still contribute to the effort and get a unit for themselves.

Notch says that he is "very excited" for the VR device and that he "can't wait to start playing with it."
