In what could very well be the last announcement of the game’s features before it hits store shelves, Vigil Games has announced that Darksiders II will have New Game+ functionality .
Game+ mode is, of course, not a new feature in games but one that’s welcome nonetheless. For those not familiar with it, this means that once you finish the game, you can start over but this time you’ll retain the items and skills from your first playthrough – which means Death will be more bad-ass early on.
Aside from that, Vigil has also announced a combat arena “which will provide the ultimate challenge for Darksiders II players.”
Think of this as Darksiders II’s Horde mode, but with in-game loot as a reward. How this works is that once a player completes five of the mode's 100 unique waves, players will be given the option of taking a prize or continuing for another five waves for a chance at a better items. However, if you die while fighting, you'll get nothing. So think wisely on how much far you want to go.
In addition to this, THQ has also revealed that "the upgraded and customized character can then be carried over into the upcoming DLC campaign missions."
While a New Game+ mode is to be expected, this Arena mode should add a touch of replayability to the game, no?
Are any of you planning on getting Darksiders II when it hits on August 14?
