Insomniac Games’ announced today via twitter that their upcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game won’t be at either PlayStation Experience or The Game Awards this week.
Hey, Web-Heads! We're not showing new #SpiderManPS4 content at PSX/The Game Awards,
but we're hard at work on cool stuff to share in 2017! pic.twitter.com/AGs0zlaLtK— Insomniac Games (@insomniacgames) November 30, 2016
This is unexpected as many people were believing that they would hear more about the game at the PlayStation Event, however, that won’t is the case. The PS4 Spider-Man game was officially announced at E3 2016 and has since gone quiet. But Insomniac does reassure fans by saying that there will be plenty of “cool stuff” to show in 2017.
We don’t know much about the upcoming Spider-Man title, but we do know that this isn’t a retelling of Parker’s origin story. This is a seasoned Spider-Man looking to balance out both his personal and superhero lifestyle. Take a look at what Insomniac had to say earlier this year about their vision of the game:
“This isn’t the same Spider-Man you’ve met before, nor is our game based on the upcoming movie. This is a more seasoned Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his absurdly chaotic personal life and career. All while nine million New Yorkers depend on him for their safety… no pressure indeed.”
