Publisher Reef Entertainment has released shiny new screenshots for their upcoming FPS, Rambo: The Video Game, but the new “cinematic” trailer is rather compelling, and here’s why: it tells us nothing about the game.
Instead, we’re given almost a minute of clips from the Rambo films.
While this is certainly an efficient way to hype a licensed movie game, it’s also cheekily befitting: the first-person shooter is described as being a “journey” taking us through the events of the first 3 movies (no Rambo 4, sadly).
Interestingly, the screenshots (one of which is seen below) also don’t seem to reveal much in the way of gameplay, but it might be fair to assume there’ll be lots of explosions and M60-with-bandolier gunplay.
No word yet on whether or not Reef Entertainment will be shelling out the dough to get Stallone’s voice to grace the game for the sake of authenticity, but one can hope against hope.
Rambo: The Video Game is set for release on December 31 on Xbox 360, PC and PS3.
