With Super Mario Maker‘s transition to the handheld ludosphere just a few days away, Nintendo has launched its official interactive website.
Super Mario Maker has come a long way since its Mario Maker days. The upcoming 2D level-editor/platformer hybrid starring Nintendo’s iconic plumber lets players create, edit and play their own Super Mario courses. More than 60 course elements are available including blocks, pipes, goombas and mushroom power-ups, supplying players with tools to design varied, exciting levels. Traditional elements from the original game – such as enemy sizes and abilities – can be modified by combining elements in different ways.
The game comes with an in-built tutorial designed to explain the basics of level design, and tips and tricks for novices. There are 100 courses in Super Mario Challenge, Nintendo’s pre-loaded courses which carry the incentive of unlocking new course elements if beaten.
Super Mario Maker is coming out on Dec 2 for Nintendo 3DS, just in time for the holiday season. It is available as a digital download for $39.99USD. It was originally released on Nintendo Wii U in 2015.
