Part of the Square Enix Collective, Shattered – Tale of the Forgotten King is a dark, dreamlike action RPG filled with unnatural entities, silence and shadows, and it’s currently on kickstarter.
The story begins with a mysterious king who dreamed an immortal world called Hypnos into existence. One day, the king mysteriously disappeared, and Hypnos lost its soul and was cast into a misty, interminable limbo. Thousands of years later, a solitary figure known only as the Wanderer embarks on a quest for truth, without any memory of his past.
Shattered – Tale of the Forgotten King features a challenging mix of 2D puzzle platforming and dynamic 3D boss fights. The fighting system will depend heavily on player dexterity, reflexes and sense of timing, with light attacks, heavy attacks, dodging and dashing at the heart of the action. The RPG system will come into play through an unlockable skill tree, which includes both passive and active skills depending on your playstyle.
At the time of this article, the game has reached €52,881 of its €80,000 funding goal.
Shattered – Tale of the Forgotten King is due to release in 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
