Within 24 hours of the zombie MMO’s closed beta announcement, The War Z received an impressive 100,000 eager registrants.
Publisher Arktos Entertainment Group announced the title on July 19th, and developer Hammerpoint Interactive is ostensibly still accepting beta registrations. Curiously, however, the sign-up page is concealed behind a “pre-order” label, but seeing as the store isn’t yet active, it’s not actually possible to pre-order the game.
Senior game designer Eric Nordin is unflinchingly enthusiastic about the title, saying,
“We've been following all of the comments on the various forums as well as our Facebook page and it really validates that we're creating something that gamers want to play. We're going to continue working hard and make sure we deliver the best game possible!"
The War Z is set for a fall release on PC and an official homepage has just launched here.
