Telltale’s Walking Dead Season 3 Receives New Release Date

November 22, 2016 by Jordan Biazzo

Thankfully it’s only a slight delay

Walking Dead

Telltale has finally broken their silence on the highly anticipated season three of The Walking Dead. Instead of releasing later this month, the episodic series will now release on Dec. 20.

A physical copy of the game is set to release in February and will include all five episodes. Users who preorder the game on the PlayStation store will receive a complimentary copy The Walking Dead: Season Two and The Walking Dead: Michonne. While Steam users will receive a discount of 10% off the title.

A New Frontier continues the story of the fan-favorite character Clementine. However, Telltale has noted that players who have yet to play season one and two will be able to pick up the game and enjoy it. Here’s what Telltale had to say in a blog post about the upcoming adventure:

When family is all you have left… how far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. But at what cost? Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last.

Telltale also announced that there will be an extended look at  A New Frontier at this year’s Video Game Awards, which is slated for Thursday, Dec. 1.

Walking Dead: A New Frontier will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and mobile platforms.
