Surprise Battle Royale Beta Codes Sent out to NA Gamers

July 27, 2012 by Mat Growcott

A closed developer beta is going to be the platform for some people to get their first look at PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Codes for access to a closed beta of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale have been sent out to North American PlayStation users. The beta was free to download in Honk Kong for PS+ users and there's been hints that some big betas are coming to the EU store over the next month or so, but for now this luck-of-the-draw code sharing seems to be the best that North American fans can hope for.

Neogaf user Revolutionary shared his email with fellow forum users and other people have been reporting access to the developer beta as well. Of course, there will be a big NDA slapped all over it (as seen at the bottom of that email) so don't expect a wave of opinions and details any time soon.

On the bright side, they could have started this beta a week before the game came out and had it as some sort of glorified demo – I'm thinking of Battlefield 3 here – so I'm thankful that they're trying to squash bugs and judge balancing issues well in advance of the game's October release date.
