Dishonored Showcases an Excess of Escape Methods

July 26, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

There will be a variety of ways to play Dishonored, some of which are showcased in this new trailer.

Dishonored is a highly emergent game which offers players the chance to deal with a wide variety of situations in their own ways, unhindered by what the designers thought players ought to do.

In many ways, the game is similar to the likes of the Thief and Deus Ex games—which should come as little surprise given that Harvey Smith is one of the minds responsible for both Dishonored and the aforementioned games.

Dishonored will offer players the freedom to improvise their attacks and plan their strategies according to the skills they have available at their disposal. Some of this improvisation is showcased in a new trailer released by Bethesda this morning, which shows three escape sequences, each using a different skill.

Dishonored is set for release on October 9 in the US for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It’ll be out three days later on October 12 in European countries.
