Thanks to a press release that was sent over earlier today we got word of a new speedrun contest for the upcoming indie video game release, Standby. The video game currently has a demo available for gamers to download through Steam, and if you’re interested in speedrunning titles along with achieving the best time possible, then this new contest may be worth checking into.

The upcoming video game Standby is currently under development by Noclip and it will be releasing during the first quarter of 2017. Today through the end of this month, a new contest seeks out the fastest speedrunners to complete the current demo build.

Being a tough 2D platformer, this won’t be an easy task. Essentially, players will only have to download the demo through Steam and record their fastest run through any software. From there, players will have to upload their video to Twitch, YouTube, or HitBox.

Once you are satisfied with your time, you will need to submit your run to Speedrun.com and mark it as “STANDBY SPEEDRUN CONTEST by [Nickname].”

This contest is going on until November 28, 2016, which should give players plenty of time to get familiar with the demo and work at hitting their fastest time. The top three players will receive select prizes which you can view down below.

1st Place
  • Custom glass trophy with your name
  • Signed Standby poster
  • Standby key and all HypeTrain games
2nd Place
  • Signed Standby poster
  • Standby key and two HypeTrain games
3rd Place
  • Standby Key and one HypeTrain game
