Master & Dynamic Launches MW50 Wireless On-Ear Headphones

November 1, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Master & Dynamic has a new pair of on-ear headphones.

master-and-dynamic-mw50Is Apple getting you down with the iPhone 7’s lack of a headphone port? Worry no more. If you’re in the market for a new pair of headphones, Master & Dynamic has just launched its new MW50 Wireless On-Ear headphones that don’t require you to plug them into anything (unless you want to).

The new headphones are available in silver metal and two different leather colors—black and brown. These premium cans cost $449 and serve as a combination of the brand’s “form meets function” design. The drivers are made of beryllium to provide a warm sound profile and an external aluminum antenna offers a range of connectivity up to three times the industry standard, usable up to 100 feet away from a mobile phone or any other connected device.

The battery lasts 16 hours of playtime and is quickly charged through the USB-C port, and you can plug it in to the latest Apple MacBooks. The battery can also be bypassed by direct connection with the audio cable.

The MW50 is 30% smaller and lighter than the previous MW60 Wireless Over-Ear headphones, which we reviewed previously. Much like the MW60, the MW50 uses discrete, tactile buttons so you can control the volume, pause or play a song, or repeat a song without going into your phone.

You can buy it here.
