Grand Theft Auto 5’s Online “Halloween Surprise” Event Begins Today

October 28, 2016 by Kris Kittie

New matches, vehicles, and face paints, oh my! And much much more.

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer mode, GTA Online, is being updated today with the Halloween content that Rockstar announced earlier this week. The “Halloween Surprise” event begins today.

A new version of the LCC Sanctus motorcycle adorned with a red-eyed skull is scheduled to arrive. A new Angels vs Devils multiplayer mode called Lost vs Damned is included, and some of the Halloween themed vehicles from last year’s event are also making a comeback.

Lost vs Damned’s matches will flip between day and night for 60 seconds at a clip, with advantages including regenerated Armor and Health and improved Weapon options depending on the time: day for Angels and night for the Devils. Points are awarded for kills during the time your team is most powerful, either day or night.

The other new event is a Slasher adversary mode, which supports up to 8 players. The Slasher stalks their prey with a shotgun and you use your flashlight to navigate around while avoiding the Slasher. If you survive for 3 minutes, then you’ll get a chance to “return the favor” with a shotgun of your own.

The Lurcher Hearse and Frank Strange cars from last year’s GTA Online Halloween event are coming back, while creepy masks for Heists, 30 new face paints, 20 new bobbleheads, and horns are also now available. All of this is available in GTA Online now through November 15th.

In addition, everyone who logs into the name now through November 7th will get spooky t-shirts called Twilight Knife and Butchery and Other Hobbies for their characters. People who pick up the new Sanctus bike by November 7th will get the Cheerleader Massacre 3 t-shirt.

Rockstar is also offering up double GTA$ and RP in the following modes: Slasher, Beast vs Slasher, and Come Out to Play. However this promotion is only available on Halloween itself, October 31st.

Even if you’re not in the Halloween spirit, Rockstar is offering up a gift of $250,000 worth of GTA$ for everyone who simply logs into GTA Online for PS4, Xbox One, or PC now through October 31st. The funds may not be delivered right away but should show up in your Maze bank account by November 4th.
