Square Enix has announced today that Final Fantasy XV has gone gold. To mark the moment, the studio released a new CG cinematic trailer titled “Omen.” You’ll also note that the trailer celebrates the game’s “gone gold” status in its own way.
Omen is described as a conceptual CG cinematic trailer created by the world-renowned 3D animation studio DIGIC Pictures, who also worked on Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. It shows Noctis as he rapidly navigates a shifting world, fighting endless waves of enemies, a gradual loss of his abilities, and a madness that brings harm to his fiancée. The trailer depicts a nightmarish “omen” that his father King Regis foresaw and wishes for his son to avoid.

With the game achieving gold status, development will now shift towards creation of the Season Pass, which adds three original episodes to the game where players take charge of one of Noctis’ friends in all new adventures.
Following the release of the character episodes, Comrades—an expansion pack for FINAL FANTASY XV—will introduce a brand-new online co-op mode for up to four players which features intense battles allowing players to take full control of Noctis, Gladio, Prompto and Ignis as a group. Comrades will be available for separate purchase, and is also included in the Season Pass.
