Mortal Kombat Legacy will be returning for a second season, announced its creator Kevin Tancharoen at San Diego Comic Con. Needless to say, the first season of the mini-series was extremely well received.
Having dealt with the origin stories of the setting's main characters, season 2 of Legacy will focus on the Mortal Kombat tournament.
According to Tancharoen, the second season will deliver "more fighting, more action" and "more visual effects". There are few details about the show aside from the confirmation of the second season, so there's no word on whether old cast members will be returning to reprise their roles. Fans who didn't think Jeri Ryan fit the role of Sonya Blade may be in for a treat, depending on whether she's replaced by a younger actress.
