Summer can finally begin! That is, if you consider summer that time when you sit indoors and purchase-then-not-play video games. Valve's infamous Steam Summer Sale has kicked off and they are really pulling out the big guns this year. Well over a hundred games will go on sale during the next ten days, and no wallet is safe. At any given point during each day, there are at least four different sale variations, all of which you will want to keep an eye on.
Guaranteed at least once during this sale, you will click on a game thinking "What an amazing deal! I have to have this!" only to realize you already own the game. It's okay. It happens to the best of us.

In addition to the base sales, every eight hours, Steam will be putting three titles against each other in a popular vote. Once the voting period ends, Valve uses magic and some Balloonicorns to tally the results, then they pump out the discounted title and start it all over again. This means that voting will run from 10am EST – 6pm EST, 6pm EST – 2am EST, and then 2am EST – 10am, cycling all throughout the sale.
If that wasn't enough, Steam has "Flash Sales" running immediately under The Community's Choice column. These sales vary in length, but are constantly appearing and expiring. It seems like Valve would like gamers to completely quit their jobs and spend the rest of July monitoring their deals.
GameRanx will keep you updated each day of the sale, so be sure to check back and see what Valve has in store for tomorrow.
