October 19, 2016 by Nick Monroe

A fresh cast of characters means new voices.

While the folks overseas in Japan may have already gotten their hands on this game, the English speaking parts of the world have yet to experience this for themselves. See the Persona 5 protagonist in action via this new video uploaded by Atlus. The protagonist is transferred to Shujin High School, and he and his friends become the Phantom Thieves of Hearts group. They travel to an otherworldly realm known as “Palace” and steal the vile intentions inside adult hearts.

The overall theme is about people who live a double life between normalcy and freedom of adventure. By taking off the mask that society forces everyone to wear and confronting themselves, they unlock their true Persona powers.  Here’s a list of what we know when it comes to the English voice acting.

  • Xander Mobus as the protagonist
  • Cassandra Morris as Morgana
  • Max Mittelman as Ryuji Sakamoto
  • Erika Harlacher as Ann Takamaki
  • Matt Mercer as Yusuke Kitagawa
  • Cherami Leigh as Makoto Niijima
  • Erica Lindbeck as Futaba Sakura
  • Xanthe Huynh as Haru Okumura
  • Robbie Daymond as Goro Akechi

The development guy in charge of organizing the VA’s for the game is a longtime member of the staff.

“We at Atlus U.S.A. take pride in the quality and care we put into casting and dubbing for our games, and Persona 5 is no exception,” said Persona 5 project lead and recording supervisor, Yu Namba. “This is a completely new cast of characters, so we started with a blank slate in bringing life to them with our stellar cast of voice actors. It’s hard saying goodbye to the cast of previous Persona games, but we hope to bring an entirely new tone with a new set of actors for this game.”

Persona 5 releases February 14, 2017 for PS4 and PS3 in North America and Europe. The PS4 version of the game has some Limited Edition versions available to pre-order. The Steelbook Launch Edition comes with the game in a Steelbook case, while the Take Your Heart Premium Editiom has: a Soundtrack CD, a 4″ Morgana Plush, a School bag, a 64-page art-book, and that Steelbook case mentioned earlier. It all comes together in a huge collectible box. To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
