In Overwatch canon, D.Va, one of the game’s heroes, is a Korean teenager who’s also the highest ranking player in StarCraft. Before joining Overwatch, she became a celebrity, got endorsement deals, and was a prolific eSports personality and caster.
Today, Blizzard has revealed that D.Va will be headed into StarCraft 2 with its upcoming update 3.7. She’ll be available as an announcer in the game’s multiplayer mode. Her voice pack will be available as part of the BlizzCon 2016 goodie bag, along with an exclusive portrait.
The goodie bag is also a part of the virtual ticket for BlizzCon 2016, so buying online access to that will give you the new content, along with a host of other goodies for Blizzard’s other titles. Only the announcer pack will be available for purchase later—the portrait itself is exclusive to the time-limited BlizzCon goodie bag.
In addition to D.Va, other StarCraft characters including Abathur, Alarak, Artanis, Kerrigan, Raynor and Swann will also be getting voice packs.
Blizzard released a preview of some of her voice lines, which you can check out here.
