The PlayStation Vita/PC/iOS MMO follow-up to the fantastic Phantasy Star Online will be coming to the west after all. Although it was expected to happen, announcements that SEGA were struggling earlier in the year caused some people to believe that a translation and release outside of Japan were unlikely. SEGA have today announced that those worries were unfounded.
Phantasy Star Online 2, which released in Japan earlier this month, will be hitting western shores in early 2013. Should the release schedule follow that of Japan, an iOS/Android version will follow shortly after, with a Vita version released several months down the line. The press release has yet to be shared via official channels, it was sent to PSO-World first, but it's expected that it'll be sent out over the next few hours, when a currently-private trailer is to released on YouTube.
So far people seem to be enjoying the new entry in the series, although there have been complaints raised concerning the "pay-to-win" nature of the in-game store.
