Here’s 15-Minutes of Injustice: Gods Among Us Gameplay

July 9, 2012 by Alex Co

Ed Boon demos Injustice: Gods Among Us at this year’s EVO Fighting Championships

Ed Boon and his fellow cohorts at NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat) showed off about 15-minutes worth of gameplay for Injustice: Gods Among Us at this year's EVO fighting show.

EVO Fighting Championships is, of course, an annual event where the world's top fighting game players showcase their skill for pride, bragging rights and prizes.

Boon does a running commentary of two "matches" where players get to see the characters' special moves and supers.

In the first fight, we get to see Superman take on the Flash. While the supers and whatnot look good, it seems the star of the video is the environmental attacks each player can do and they even vary depending on what kind of character the fighter is!

One good example is if there's a car on stage, a "power" character like Superman would then lift the car up and smash it on his opponent, while a "gadget" character like Flash would repeatedly bash his opponent's face on the same car.

The second match shows Solomon Grundy taking on Batman. It might just be me, but Batman's super move really looks tame compared to the Flash, Superman and Grundy's.

Talking about it doesn't do it justice, so just watch it for yourself.

Players can also smash through walls, floors and other parts of the environment to continue the fight at a different level of the stage. My main gripe with this is, wouldn't that be tiresome to watch after the 100th time you've seen it?

Hopefully, Boon and Co. consider this and we can somehow skip it, no?

Injustice: Gods Among Us is set for release in 2013 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
