You Can Choose a Female Protagonist in Prey

October 17, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

“Morgan Yu is Morgan Yu, he or she will be defined by the choices you make.”

There’s a new trailer for Prey, and it looks good. The first trailer, which was revealed way back during E3 2016, showed a male protagonist. The latest trailer reveals that players will have the option to play as a female protagonist, rather than being locked in.

For all intents and purposes, both male and female protagonists are the same character, bearing the name Morgan Yu. Like her male counterpart, female Morgan Yu will go through the same struggles and deal with the same nightmares.

This trailer is the same as the one previously shown at Gamescom in August, except it’s now being told from the perspective of the female version of Morgan.

Bethesda notes that the choice you make will not impact the story or how characters interact with you. “Morgan Yu is Morgan Yu, he or she will be defined by the choices you make,” they stated.

The game is currently in development at Arkane Austin and is slated for release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2017.
