If you're a diehard SEGA fan, prepare yourself for a surprise. The house that Sonic built is bringing back its cult classic NiGHTs Into Dreams… and will release it on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC later this year. Further information, including a more specific release date, hasn't been revealed at this point, but keep an ear open over the next few months and no doubt they'll go into far more detail.
Originally released in 1996, NiGHTs was something of a visual marvel, fully utilizing the power of the SEGA Saturn. It's since become something of a cult classic, although the sequel – NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, exclusive to the Wii – failed to hit all the right spots. A PS2 remake was also released, and while I can't be at all certain, it seems that it'll be that version being released, but with achievements, leader boards and a beautiful HD shine.
As with the PS2 remake, there will be an option to turn off the improved graphics and play it as it was originally presented on the Saturn.
