Overwatch‘s summer was filled with Olympian style festivities, and it turns out that wasn’t the only occasion where Blizzard intended to celebrate a holiday. Spoiling the surprise a bit, the gaming community got a hint of what was to come after some art assets had leaked online. It turns out the rumors were true – Overwatch is throwing a Halloween party of their own for the rest of October.
The biggest attraction of this special occasion is the addition of a co-op brawl, a first in the game’s history. The name of the scenario is Junkenstein’s Revenge, and you play as one of four heroes (Ana, Hanzo, McCree, or Soldier: 76) and defend Adlersbrunn village from the onslaught of Dr Junkenstein’s zomnic forces. The Loot Boxes have transformed into glowing jack-o’-lanterns, and there’s over 100 new seasonal treats inside them. As it was the case with the Summer Games event, every loot box you buy or otherwise earn will contain one Halloween 2016 collection item during this time. These customization pieces: like profile icons, emotes, skins, sprays, and poses, are randomized. Hopefully fortune will be in your favor, and you’ll luck out enough to get everything you wanted. For added lore fun, check out the Overwatch Junkenstein comic that was published over on their site.
Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Halloween Event ends on November 1st. To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
