Developer Obsidian Entertainment and global publisher My.com proudly announce that Global Operations, a revolutionary mix of both PvP and PvE gameplay in Armored Warfare is now open for testing on a Public Test Server.

Armored Warfare was recently announced and is truly a unique game mode for tank genre games. It is a free to play MMO tactical military game.

The vehicles include modern main battle tanks to scouts and wheeled vehicles. Players can use modern defense systems like anti-missile protection and smoke grenades, along with armor and ammunition to command the battlefield.

Since the game is a mix of PvP and PvE, it also has a set of gameplay innovations, the new mode makes PvP more exciting and action focused. Which is exactly the aim of a true modern battlefield game experience.

The first of a series of new maps to be introduced in Armored Warfare: Global Operations is an open desert map called “Desert Crossing.” This map is the largest of any map so far in the game and has a lot of interactive elements. Bomber streak across the sky, AI controlled turrets shoot at teams, and surveillance drones seek to change the landscape of warfare for good.

Two mercenaries and local forces are clashing over a massive dry dock with an aircraft carrier in “Desert Crossing”. The battles in Global Operations are time sensitive and feature up to 15 v 15 player teams.

Each team begins with their own pool of points. Destroying Enemy or AI controlled vehicles and capturing control zones will reduce the enemies’ point count.  First team to reduce the enemy’s point score to zero wins!

Players can also capture special “Wildcard” objectives that give them the ability to call in military assets from their HQ, which will tip the balance of the battle in their favor. The first map contains the following “wildcards:

  • Pillboxes: static AI-controlled object firing Anti-Tank guided missiles at enemy forces
  • Surveillance drone: an unmanned aerial asset that can fly above a zone and spot the enemy teams movements with ease.
  • Air Raid:  A powerful B2 bombing run attack that flies in from off the map to wreak havoc amongst enemy lines!
  • Supply Zone: to allow resupply of ammo without needing to respawn.
