Techland Publishing and InXile Entertainment have released a new video feature of the studio’s upcoming role-playing game, Torment: Tides of Numenera. Developed as the spiritual sequel to Planescape: Torment, the new RPG has many of the same key writers and developers working to deliver a fresh and fantastic new experience to gamers on the PC, Xbox One and PS4.

In the new video feature, players will have a glimpse into the depth and variety that awaits them in the mysterious world of Torment: Tides of Numenera.

Taking place a billion years into the future and set on Earth, InXile’s list of writers working on the game include Planescape creator Colin McComb, George Ziets, who worked on Pillars of Eternity and Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie, who wrote Horizon: Zero Dawn and Diablo III, and Chris Avellone, best known for his work on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Fallout: New Vegas, to name a few.

The title is slated for release in 2017.
