In news that should either make PS3 fans happy or fill them with dread, Naughty Dog has confirmed that their upcoming game — The Last of Us — will have a multiplayer component.
This news was revealed by Creative Director Neil Druckmann who also reveals it won't be co-op multiplayer — which, I'm sure a lot of people were assuming.
We are supporting multiplayer with The Last of Us. We’re not ready to talk about the details of how multiplayer will be implemented, however we can say that it is not co-op within the main campaign.
Maybe it's a few mini, episodic missions, then? There's no way Naughty Dog will implement competitive multiplayer in this game, right?! Whatever it is, I hope it's not something they're putting in it as just another bullet point on the back of the box.
Give the whole interview a read as Naughty Dog reveals a ton of things about The Last of Us in it.
What sort of mulitplayer would you want to see in The Last of Us? Speculate away.
