Beyond Good & Evil made waves when it was released last decade, and fans of the game have been waiting for a sequel for about just as long.
The sequel, which Ubisoft teases every now and again as still being in development, may have just gotten its first real tease to indicate that it’s actually in the works. Well, maybe.
Today, Michel Ancel, who made Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman, shared an interesting image on his Instagram account. It’s a concept art picture with the caption “somewhere in system 4…”and also reads “Thanks to Ubisoft for making this possible!”
The image shows what appears to be some old guy with an anthropomorphic baby pig on his back. There’s a good chance that the pig is a younger Pey’j, who was Jade’s companion in the first game—meaning that the upcoming title (if it’s in development) is a prequel. Barring that, it could be a pig related to Pey’j—but we’re going to guess that it’s supposed to be him.
On top of that, Ubisoft France’s Twitter account directed its followers to the Instagram post, stating that fans should follow Ancel’s account closely.
Can we expect to see more details about a new Beyond Good & Evil in the days to come? As a fan of the game, I certainly hope so.
