Nintendo of Japan has confirmed today that the next Super Smash Bros is in development at Namco Bandai. The team at Namco Bandai will be working with Project Sora, the studio behind the recent Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Despite the absence of Team HAL, the next Super Smash Bros will be helmed by series creator Masahiro Sakurai. Tales of Vesperia developer Kenya Kobayashi will be producing the game.
Nintendo says that the next Super Smash Bros will be released on both the 3DS and Wii U.
Few other details are known about the next Super Smash Bros game, but Nintendo is expected to reveal more information in the coming months, and at the Tokyo Game Show later this year.
The company announced the next Super Smash Bros at its press conference unveiling the 3DS XL. Other titles announced include Animal Crossing 3DS and Kirby's Dream Collection.
