Last year, Milestone S.r.l. released their RIDE video game – a motorcycle racing experience for PC and consoles. The focus of their game was realism, making the feeling of controlling how you drove the bike as immersive as possible. Controlling individual brakes, having the ability to tuck forwards and backwards, even going as far as being able to customize your bike’s parts. That might seem a bit ridiculous on it’s own, but being able to put your wheels to the road and traveling across locales based on real-world spots (Wales, Road America, Potrero, etc.) certainly encourages players to go through with it. Giving them the feel-good sensation of a reward for their efforts.
With the upcoming RIDE 2, the game is no longer confined to the limitations of the last generation of consoles, which means Milestone S.r.l. and the publishers at Square Enix can deliver a game that pushes the realism of motorcycle races to the next level of potential. They have a new trailer out showcasing what this title can do when it comes to places to travel.
When it comes to cold-hard numbers, there will be: over 190 bikes, 15 game modes, and 30 courses. The new locations follow the same reality-based inspiration from the first game, adding tracks like Nordschleife, Ulster GP and Northwest 200 to circuits in Franciacorta, Castelletto di Branduzzo, and Ottobiano. Your bike will have customization potential in five areas: Brakes & Suspensions, Engine, Aesthetics, Transmission, and wheels. RIDE 2 has over 1200 real-world parts in the pool of possibilities to pick from, when it comes to your hardware. It doesn’t stop at just your bike, either. In RIDE 2 you’ll have plenty of options when it comes to changing the look of your rider. From the clothing style, to the bits of gear, even the poses you make and the particular method of how they ride their bike. Although there are plans for paid DLC after launch, the developers are committed to releasing nine free add-ons from the initial launch this February, up through July.
The game will have a Day One Edition for consoles. It comes with four exclusive bikes, and a pack of 20 different rider helmets. RIDE 2 crosses the game development finish line on February 14th, 2017, and it’ll be on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
