Back in mid-Summer 2015, a game by Daylight Studios called Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! came out on Steam. The idea behind it was the player had to manage a weapon shop – forging specific pieces of equipment to sell to people that went on adventures. The better the quality of item, and the closer you came to meeting the buyer’s needs, rewarded your shop manager with money as a result. What was distinct about the title was that the citizens of the Holy Potatoes! world were talking Potato people.
And they’ll be back in the Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! sequel that’s in the works. See what the game is all about in their preview trailer.
The story to the game is the protagonist must save their grandfather from an evil federation, known as The Eclipse. Now, our spuds are interstellar as the embark on a roguelike space adventure. You have a spaceship – filled with crew members you hire, and armed to the teeth with weapons you craft. Traveling around a procedurally generated universe to gather resources is dangerous, and you’re bound to encounter space races (cosmic carrots, obnoxious onions, space whales, etc.) with the occasional boss fight thrown in for an extra step up in challenge.
Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! is set to arrive sometime by the end of the year for PC (Mac/Linux). To learn more about the game, check out the developer’s website.
