Last year was such a fantastic year for the Summer of Arcade. Xbox Live saw the release of Bastion, From Dust, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Fruit Ninja Kinect, and Toy Soldiers: Cold War. It's a hard lineup to beat, and I don't know how hard Microsoft is trying in 2012.

Personally, I'm looking forward to August. Deadlight is the game to keep your eyes on this year. It's a sidescrolling survival horror platformer, probably the best, or maybe only, one I've ever seen. Dark, gritty, terrifying, that spells "summer" for me.
